When Dungarvan Brewing Company started making beer, Irish craft brewing was not yet a movement — it was a handful of optimistic people in sheds and converted buildings, making beer they believed in before the market caught up. DBC was among that founding generation, and it has outlasted most of them.
Core Range
Three beers anchor the range:
- Black Rock Irish Stout — a proper Irish stout, named for the rock formations off the Dungarvan coast
- Copper Coast Red Ale — named for the UNESCO-listed stretch of coastline just south of Dungarvan
- Helvick Gold Blonde Ale — bright, drinkable, named for Helvick Head on the Ring Peninsula
The seasonal and festival range complements the core, and the beers are hand-crafted on site in the brewery just outside Dungarvan off the N25.
New Chapter: New Owners Since 2023
In 2023, Tom and Becky Dauber — craft beer enthusiasts from the United States — acquired the brewery and brought what they describe as “fresh energy and a renewed vision.” The commitment to the core range and to the brewing heritage of west Waterford has been preserved alongside their new perspective.
Named after Waterford coastlines and brewed with west Waterford water. Dungarvan Brewing Company makes beer that tastes of where it comes from.
