Malcolm and Fiona Falconer made the kind of move that many people talk about and fewer actually make: they left South London and bought a smallholding on the outskirts of Monamolin in the quiet south Wexford countryside. What they built from that decision — Wild About — is one of Ireland’s most genuinely distinctive artisan food businesses.
From the Hedgerow and the Garden
The Wild About range — chutneys, preserves, dressings, oils, syrups, pestos, and raw foods — is made from native, seasonal, and wild ingredients grown on their organic permaculture farm or foraged from the hedgerows and fields around it. What doesn’t come from their own land is sourced from as close to it as possible.
The seasonal oil range captures the Wexford year beautifully: Wild Garlic in spring, Nasturtium and Thyme in summer, Bolivia Hairy Chilli for heat and character. Each oil is an argument for eating with the seasons rather than against them.
Award-Winning
Wild About has collected multiple awards from Irish and international judges who recognise genuinely original food. The products are stocked at Ardkeen Quality Food Store in Waterford, at SuperValu stores in Dublin, Wicklow, and Wexford, and at the People’s Park Sunday Market in Dún Laoghaire.
Foraged from south Wexford hedgerows, grown on a permaculture smallholding, and made with the kind of care that only comes from genuinely loving what you do. Wild About is extraordinary.
